Ok, so I’ve already trashed this movie in two other posts, so considering I have only the trailer to go by I will refrain. To repair some of the possible damage, I give you two reasons to see the film. It has Robin Williams in a comedy and two cute kids. And what do you know I have interviews with Williams and one of the cute kids, who also happens to be a Travolta. So take a look and let me know what you think. Will you see it? Why?
I’ll take John Travolta in a musical, yes even Staying Alive, and I’ll take him as bad guy, yes even in Swordfish.
But I don’t get what he is doing reuniting with his Wild Hogs director for Old Dogs. And don’t even get me started on the Wild Hogs sequel.
But anyways, out of the four movies (Kabo & Platón, An Education, Fantastic Mr. Fox being the other three) that open this week in Puerto Rico, Old Dogs looks to be the real turkey of the bunch (pardon the pun).
Still, here’s a Travolta promotional interview to help sway you from my negative vibes regarding this movie. In it Travolta doesn’t explain himself (why should he? He’s getting paid!) but he lets it be known that he was having fun working with Robin Williams. I guess sometimes that’s all that counts.
Here is another January movie that’s flying completely under the radar. It’s from the creators of Taken, which are obviously hoping for a repeat of that success, and it features John Travolta owning up to his dark side while having fun with a gun. Take a look!
The movie opens in Puerto Rico the first week of February in 2010.
